Perfect It Aint

As the title indicates, perfect it aint. I'll rant and rave, maybe even curse once in a while. You are welcome to join me with your comments. At worst I'll just tear out the rest of my hair. At best, I may agree with you. Or maybe I'll just ignore it, because you know, perfect it aint!

Medical Update

For the two or three of you who may actually read the tripe I put out on this blog, here is the current medical on me.

Plans call for me to visit the Clinic two and a half-weeks from now for various tests and to get to know my surgeon. Depending upon the commercial availability of device(s) surgery could be done within two to six weeks after that date, or, if no commercial devices are available, within two weeks to six months after, depending upon how soon the Clinic can manufacture their own. To my knowledge, all my medical history is now in the hands of the surgeon so he knows exactly what to be looking for, but the visit is to enable him to meet me and direct what additional tests he may want to have done to see my entire condition. ( I plan to excise my third arm and the extra toes before I go, but I will under no circumstances destroy my second brain.)

Seriously, I look forward to getting on with it. The last time it made me feel ten to fifteen years younger and I am hopeful this one works just as well. I do not feel bad, but I know I have slowed down some physically within the past few years.

Thank you for that update.

I hope that whatever they need is available already, so that you can just go ahead and have it done. I don't know about you, but I'm looking for a pretty bad winter, and after last winter, you and your wife are probably sick and tired of hospitals in the wintertime :) And travel up that way in wintertime stinks. They seem to have worse weather sooner than we do.

Will you be driving, or have you all decided about that yet?

We will be driving up on Nov. 10 and visiting the clinic on the 11th, maybe driving back that night but more probably coming back in the 12th. I am awaiting the package from them right now, via UPS or FedEx, in order to get arrangements made for the hotel stay. My only real concern right now is my kitty cat. As he is diabetic, I'll have to find someone to give him his twice daily insulin injections, or maybe get him into the vet's office for a three day stay (which I'm sure he would enjoy immensely--NOT!)

You're right, the weather around Cleveland in the winter is atrocious. My wife lived there for a couple of years, and we both ha family living there for years so we are pretty familiar with the weather. I always told her it was either cold as ice or hot as hell, there was no in between.

I still have a brother and his family living there and plan to stop by their house on the late afternoon of the 10th.

Just make sure you get your work done and get back here. Someone has to give the crazies on the HD forums the h-e-double hockey sticks they need.

Prayers for you from this liberal left fringie, and hopes that you'll be rattling my headbones for quite a while longer. :-)

Thanks to my well-wishers.

I'll be heading out tomorrow morning for the big city. Plan to return probably Thursday.

Means nothing, I just had this pop into my head--
My dog has rhinoceroses!!!

The end of a long tedious -and hilarious- song my son regaled me with back some twenty years ago--and still reminds me of, occasionally.
